Andrea is a fantastic coach, she's encouraging and knowledgeable and incredibly supportive. I started running to increase my fitness and with her gentle encouragement have become a much stronger and better runner.

I started out with the goal of running 5KM and with her encouragement, am about to run my first 11KM trail race. I would never have imagined being able to run that far.

Andrea focuses on helping runners to increase strength and endurance rather than speed so is a great coach for beginner runners or those not focused on times. I started training with Andrea to increase my fitness and am now addicted to her incredible mix of warmth, encouragement and individual goal setting. The Slow Coach community helps me set and achieve my running goals with a mix of fun and good humour.

Your Coach

Andrea is not sporty, naturally athletic or talented. But 12 or so years ago she went through a period of trauma, and over time decided to begin running as a way to appreciate her healthy body. In this process, she began to seek out a 'messier’ narrative than the mainstream running conversation.

She wasn’t interested in metrics like getting faster, but in celebrating time alone, time on feet, personal progress, better mental health and the life affirming process of overcoming a personal obstacle. Over time she clarified these insights into a running community and qualified as a Level 3 Performance Development Coach (Trail & Ultra) through Athletics Australia. She is a wife and mum to two (almost) grown-up boys.
